Common faults and solutions of flange hoses

Flanged hoses, especially flanged metal hoses, are widely used in industrial applications to connect and transfer fluids. However, with the extension of the use time, some common faults or problems may occur. The following is a summary of common faults of flanged hoses and corresponding solutions:

1. Leakage problem
Leakage is one of the most common faults of flanged hoses, which may be caused by the following reasons:

Hose aging or wear: Long-term use and harsh working environment may cause aging or wear of hose materials, resulting in leakage.
Loose connection parts: Bolts or nuts at flange connections may loosen due to vibration or improper operation, resulting in poor sealing.
Damaged seals: Sealing elements such as sealing washers or O-rings may fail due to aging, wear or improper installation.
Solution:

Regularly check the hose and its connection parts, and replace aging or worn hoses and seals in time.
Make sure the bolts and nuts at the flange connection are tightened in place, and use locking washers or apply thread lockers when necessary.
When installing and replacing seals, follow the manufacturer's instructions and recommendations to ensure that the sealing surface is clean and flat.
2. Deformation or fatigue
During long-term use, flange hoses may deform or fatigue due to excessive pressure, excessive bending or twisting.

Solution:

Check the use conditions of the hose to ensure that it does not exceed the rated pressure and temperature range.
Avoid excessive bending or twisting of the hose and keep it in its natural state.
Replace the hose regularly to ensure its normal use and safety.
3. Corrosion phenomenon
If the flange hose is used to transmit corrosive fluids without taking protective measures, the hose may corrode.

Solution:

Choose a metal hose of suitable material, such as corrosion-resistant materials such as stainless steel and alloy steel.
Coat an anti-corrosion layer on the surface of the hose to improve its corrosion resistance.
Check the corrosion of the hose regularly and replace the damaged part in time.
4. Too high temperature
Working in a high temperature environment, the flange hose may experience thermal expansion or material deterioration.

Solution:

Make sure to use high-temperature resistant materials, such as special alloys or high-temperature rubber.
Arrange the working environment of the hose reasonably according to the actual working conditions to avoid long-term exposure to high temperatures.
Use insulation materials or devices to protect the hose from high temperatures.
In summary, flanged hoses may encounter common faults or problems such as leakage, deformation or fatigue, corrosion, and overheating during use. In order to ensure its normal operation and safety, it is necessary to regularly inspect and maintain the hoses and their connections, replace aging or damaged parts in a timely manner, and follow the manufacturer's guidance and recommendations for correct use and operation.
